OCTOBER 29: Tig Welding
WHEN: Tuesday, October 29 from 5:30-8:30pm
Choose your project!
This is a one-on-one, 3+ hour workshop on a project of your choice that covers introductory skills to TIG welding! You will be using a TIG welder (Tungsten Inert Gas) to melt two pieces of metal together and adding fill rod to create a seam.
Want to get started?
Option 1: A simple plant hanger of your design. We will be working with 5/16 inch steel rod and using the roller and bender tools to create forms to hold any lightweight plastic or terra cotta pot.
Option 2: (4) hairpin table legs, 3/8 inch steel rod, with the height of your choosing between 10” and 26”. Perfect for a coffee table or nightstand!
*Also, if you have a personal project you’d prefer to work on please reach out! Happy to help with a customized project that makes more sense to you!
SAFETY: This is a metal studio and proper protective equipment is required. We have the welding hoods, jackets, and gloves, but we also need you to wear closed toe shoes and a hairband for long hair. It’s also not a bad idea to wear long pants as we will also be doing cutting and grinding.
